I work in an air-conditioned office for most the day and my hands have been feeling rather dry and rough lately. It didn’t help that I usually wash the dishes at home so my hands often come in contact with the dishwashing detergent which can be rather harsh on my hands. Kiehl’s has been established since 1851 – a 158 whopping years! Starting off as an apothecary in New York, I found it rather interesting to know that Kiehl’s does not really advertise themselves much due to their humble beginnings and prefer, instead, to let their products do the talking. Hence, they are often happy to provide samples to their customers so they may experience the benefits of their products themselves. Ingredients In Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve

The Ultimate Strength Hand Salve promises to provide all-day care for severely dry, active hands. Their natural botanical oils of Avocado, Eucalyptus and Sesame Seed together with Olive Oil wax creates a “glove” around your hands to prevent quick moisture loss and protects your hands even up to 2 or 3 washes. The lotion feels rather thick and greasy and takes a little getting used to. There is a slight greasy smell which isn’t entirely unpleasant and tends to remind me of Petroleum Jelly. Only a small amount of lotion is required for your hands and I was told that a 150ml tube can last up to 8 months if you use it sparingly. Despite its thickness, the salve absorbs quite quickly and well into the skin. Everytime I apply it, my hands always feel enveloped in insivible gloves which moisturize it and best of all, leaves no greasy or oily streaks on any surface I touch!

A 150ml tube retails for RM80. It may seem a little pricey, however, a little does go a long way with the Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. I would recommend it for those with dry skin, rough hands or even those with dry eczema patches.
