oil cleanser by you.

I bought the Shiseido Perfect Oil cleansing oil from Taiwan to test when I was there last year. Cosmetics are much cheaper in Taiwan and a huge range can be found in just about any pharmacy or beauty store you walk into. I wasn’t sure which cleansing oil was good but figured that something made by a big brand shouldn’t be that bad. How did I find it? Read below for my review of the Shiseido Perfect Oil cleanser.

Is Shiseido Perfect Oil Good?

I found Shiseido Perfect Oil to be a rather thin and lightweight oil cleanser, slightly different from the thicker oil cleansers I’ve used. It felt a little elastic in my hands and using it on my face made me feel like I was putting a layer of oil on top of it rather than cleansing it. It emulsified quite easily and washed away quite fast as well but my skin did not feel as clean as it usually does after I use oil cleansers. Instead, my face felt a bit sticky.

One major grouse I have about the Shiseido Perfect Oil is their scent! The very first time I used it, I felt really ill as the scent reminded me of  cough mixture! Repeated usage did not quite help the smell element and I don’t think I will continue using it for this main reason. However, there haven’t been many complaints about its scent so I could be a little too sensitive to the smell.

How To Use Shiseido Perfect Oil

Shiseido Perfect Oil cleansing oil is used just like any other oil. It comes in a 150ml pump bottle in a pretty blue (I’m a sucker for packaging!). Simply pump it two to three times and lightly massage all over your face, taking care to avoid the delicate eye areas. Massage a little longer on congested areas to remove blackheads and clear blocked pores. Do take care not to massage too long or too hard as it might cause fine lines and wrinkles. Blot away the oil with a piece of tissue paper before washing your face with water. Follow up by double cleansing with a mild cleanser to ensure your face is clean of all makeup and impurities.

Will I recommend Shiseido Perfect Oil? Personally, I don’t really like it due to its texture and smell. However, there are some decent reviews of it out there so it might be just a personal preference.
