Organic skincare seems to be the recent craze as people all over start turning to organic food and products in the search of improved skin without using excessive chemicals. Mukti (pronounced mooktee) skin care is one such organic product that I recently tried. Derived from Sanskrit, it means freedom and liberation and claims to use only the purest organic and natural products in all their skincare.

I recently tried the Mukti Rosehip Eye Gel which is sold in a little 15ml pump bottle. Its main ingredients are Certified Organic Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) Leaf Juice and Certified Organic Rosehip Oil (Rosa Canina). Aloe Vera seems to be an ingredient that is gaining popularity in organic skincare products as I recently tried another organic product said to be good for eczema under the Wild Nature Australia range which uses the same Aloe Barbadensis juice in its ingredient list.

The Rosehip Eye Gel is infused with rosehip, a natural antioxidant, that is said to be excellent for improving tired and puffy eyes. I actually tried it after a jag of crying so I was the perfect candidate to reduce puffy eyes!

The opaque eye gel smells quite strongly of rosehip and a tiny pump is all you need. Press gently around the contour of your eyes to let the gel absorb. Never ever rub it in as the skin around your eyes are very delicate and rubbing can cause premature wrinkles. Beauticians always recommend using the ring fingers to put on eye gel as it is the most gentle with the lightest pressure.

Did it work on my puffy eyes?

Well, the puffiness of my eyes were reduced when I woke up the next morning which was great! However, it couldn’t help my dark circles :( It is a nice and soothing gel and I would definitely recommend it if you are trying to clean up after a crying mess or would like to remove the puffiness from your eyes.
