Review of Little Taiwan Restaurant, Midvalley

Little Taiwan restaurant on the third floor of Midvalley is strategically located near the GSC cinemas and specialises in delicious Taiwan meals and snacks. The Taiwan food culture has caught on here and it is usually full of youngsters tucking into hearty Taiwanese rice and noodles or their famous bubble tea before their movies.
I recently got a chance to try the food at Little Taiwan and I was surprised at how I could have missed it all this while because the food was pretty good! Smaller tables with seats are available at the front of the restaurant and booth seats are located towards the back for bigger parties. They also have tiny little two-seaters alongside the restaurant wall which somehow reminds me a lot of Hong Kong and Taiwan coffee shops!

The restaurant was quite full and we were ushered to the tiny side tables. It fits 2 people comfortably provided you don’t order too much food to take up the table space! As we were rushing to catch a movie, we were very glad to see how fast their service was.
However, they should ensure that their servers can speak English as we noticed that their servers are mainly foreign workers who have quite a bit of trouble understanding what you want.
I had the Taiwanese rice with their special chicken for RM11.90.

It came within 10 minutes and smelt absolutely good! I was so hungry that I started on the rice before I remembered to take a photo!
A heap of steaming hot fragrant rice, topped with delicious minced meat and spring onions came together with pieces of Taiwan special chicken which was essentially Shilin-style fried chicken pieces and pickles on the side. The chicken portion was quite generous and I liked how they used mainly lean chicken pieces which were still juicy and tasty after being fried. The chicken came with some fried curry leaves which I think were for additional flavor.
My dining partner had the noodles with pork belly slices for the same price which came in a spicy soup. I am not a fan of pork belly due to the fatty meat but he thoroughly enjoyed it! I liked the smoothness of their noodles although I found the soup a little oily.
Their menu has lots of other interesting food and drinks, especially in their bubble tea section. Having visited Taiwan last year, I found the taste of the food to be quite authentic and a nice reminder of the street food that is found in Taiwan’s famous Shilin Night Market. I also like how its cheaper than Fong Lye nearby in the Gardens especially if you’re having a Taiwanese food craving!
If you wish to try it, Little Taiwan is located on the third floor of Midvalley Megamall (old wing). You can call them at: 03 2283 4113

I have the same positive comments on the place as you do. =) During the time i went there, their place wasn’t that pretty yet. It was quite simple and low key. They just had a renovation sometime ago and it was quite a pleasant surprise when i saw the change. Must have been great business going around. =D

I did like how fast the service was! The minced pork on top of the steaming hot rice with fried chicken pieces was really good comfort food for me!
Do try and let us know!

That’s great! They’re more popular now…it can sometimes be hard to get a table during the dinner hour!
