New KFC Hot Rods
I don’t eat much fast food but when I do, KFC tends to be my fast food of choice. I do love their wedges and their chicken can be quite tasty albeit unhealthy! They do run several promotions every now and then which can often feature strange but interesting fusions between local and fast food! I recall their KFC Egg Wrap Combo and KFC Nasi Lemak Combo which is currently being served for breakfasts.
One of their latest promotions is the KFC Hot Rods which I recently got a chance to try. Read more about my review below.
When dining with a group in KFC, we tend to prefer their bucket meals as you often get a variety of items instead of just chicken. We opted for their new KFC Variety Bucket which features 3 pieces of KFC’s Hot & Spicy chicken, 3 pieces of KFC Original Recipe chicken, 1 large potato wedges, 2 whipped potatos and 4 skewers of their new Hot Rods. It comes with an option to get a 1.5 litre bottle of soft drink with an add-on of RM3.10 and a carry bag made of recycleable material which makes a perfect environmentally-friendly bag for shopping trips.

The new KFC Hot Rods are rather interesting. They resemble battered and fried satay and were a little on the oily side. Each piece of meat is battered with the same batter used for the KFC Original chicken and I found each skewer to be a relatively large portion.
Biting into them, we found that the inside of the chicken was actually marinated with some spicy herbs so it gave quite a spicy kick while eating it. The chicken pieces were tender and juicy although I found it a little too much for me at the end, especially when eaten with more KFC chicken.
Nevertheless, it does make a great snack and a really tasty one as well. Do give it a try while stocks last!

@prettybeautiful: It tastes like that too but its a little spicy. Quite nice…similar to eating fried satay!
