Sukin Organic Shampoo & Conditioner

There has been a recent move towards organic products as people start to realise the harmful effects harsh chemicals in our daily cleansing products can bring. Organic shampoos and soaps are starting to become very popular now. These organic cleansing products are not only good for our skin and hair but also for the environment as they do not release dangerous chemicals back into the environment. One popular organic beauty product is Sukin shampoo and conditioner.
Sukin is an Australian brand and prides itself on being absolutely organic. It contains no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (or SLS), artificial fragrances or colours, no animal derivatives, no petro-chemicals or mineral oils and parabens, no harsh detergents and no triethanolamine. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or its closely related chemical, Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are believed by some parties to contain dioxane which is a known carcinogen. Prolonged use to dioxane has not been proven but some parties believe long term use may actually lead to cancer or skin irritants.
As Sukin is free from all these, it is a perfectly organic and safe shampoo to be used by everyone. As a shampoo, I found that it did not lather so easily. A few pumps of it did not seem to shampoo so well in my hair and it more was needed for it to make my hair feel clean. There is a certain distinctive citrus smell which is a little unpleasant. It could have been contributed by the citric acid, tangerine and mandarin essential oils which form part of its ingredients.
Sukin Organic Shampoo is to be used together with the Sukin Organic Conditioner. This conditioner, in contrast to the shampoo, does a fantastic job of conditioning the hair. A few pumps are sufficient for my hair and it helps to add volume and shine whilst preventing tangles.
Gentle and paraben-free, both Sukin shampoo and conditioner are safe to be used on sensitive scalps and all hair types. Look out for them in the bigger Watsons stores in Singapore.

I absolutely love the Made from Earth Peppermint conditioner.
So far its my favorite one from the Made from Earth skincare line (though I have others on order to try). Made from Earth is completely natural – unlike other brands who may claim to be natural and/or organic (but somehow still manage to sneak the icky chemicals in) – so that alone makes this an awesome product for someone who’s concerned about what their beauty products are made from. And on top of that, after only a few days of consistent use, my hair is softer and silkier than with any other product I’ve tried. The smell is a little strong, but fades to a nice subdued peppermint scent after the hair dries.
I’ve gotten many compliments on my hair since I’ve gone back to using Made from Earth products. I’ve spent a few years trying out all the “natural” brands to find the perfect line for my hip length hair…again, of all those supposedly natural brands -Made from Earth seems to be the only one that really is purely natural, and on top of that, has been the best for my hair.
It’s extremely well worth the price!

I love peppermint so I had to give the Made from Earth organic “Tea Tree Shampoo” and “Peppermint Conditioner” a try. I’ve used Castille soaps before and never really loved the distinct smell they have.
Anyway, the Peppermint Condition er and the Tea Tree Shampoo (from Made from Earth)are amazing and I LOVE the way it smells. And it really is true that you get a bit of tingle from the mint.
I only use sulfate-free washes because they don’t make me dry and itchy. Sulfate-free washes are pretty hard to find so do yourself a favor and buy this wash!

Hi,
Does this Sukin shampoo makes your hair very dry if we don’t use conditioner?
Thanks.

Hi Chris – It depends on your hair texture. I have quite fine hair so usually don’t need much conditioner.

I have to admit I saw the Made from Earth Organic Hair Care products one evening on a TV commercial and it intrigued me, but I was skeptical. I decided to buy some online –
It took a little getting used to and I did see improved results after about a good month of use. Meaning it took that long to adjust to how much I should use, technique, etc. I have finer hair that never really could get enough moisture from conditioners. The ends would always feel dry, no matter how often I go for trims. This cleansing conditioner calmed my hair and really moisturized it. It doesn’t feel heavy, doesn’t look greasy, and I have no more fly away hairs.
Lastly, the Peppermint smell of the conditioner is soooo relaxing and fresh. I love it. Its called the Peppermint Herbal Conditioner, and it comes with the Tea Tree Shampoo in a package.
