Banana Cafe Catering Service
I first heard about Banana Cafe Catering Service from a friend who has used them before and was very happy with their services. It was also highly recommended by another friend whose office often engages them. This catering service is apparently owned by the famous designer, Zang Toi, who also runs the popular Zang Toi Fashion Cafe in Lot 10 and West 57th St Cafe in Sg Wang Plaza. With such great reviews about this catering service, I was glad to have the opportunity to try their food recently when I attended my friend’s son’s birthday party.

I was rather impressed with Banana Caterers’ set up. The caterers provided white tents which came complete with lights and fans so it made it very comfortable for the guests who were sitting under the tents. Gone are the days of hot and ugly tents! The tents today are so stylish and modern. The tables set up under the tents were also nicely laid with table cloths which made it a pleasant dining experience.
I was also very impressed with their buffet layout. A nice flower arrangement was provided on the buffet table which gave it a very nice touch together with their claypots and steel serving trays. The spread was pretty good comprising a variety of delicious flavoured rice, fried noodles, fish, lamb, chicken curry, steamed otak-otak and mixed vegetables. I really loved the sweet and sour fish dish as it was filled with big sized pieces of boneless fish unlike some caterers who provide mainly flour pieces. Some fruits and desserts, including Zang Toi’s famous chocolate banana cake were served and although I am not a dessert fan, I found the cake very nice as the chocolate and banana mixture provided a lovely combination.
Banana Cafe Caterers runs a comprehensive catering service for all occasions and includes tents and table set-ups as their package. You can even order a whole roasted lamb with them or a stall concept if catering to a large crowd.

i used to work there in their both outlets and they did not practice hygiene, poor equipments , dishwashers washing on the floor behind the back door with a hose pipe and three large water basins.
They used the cheapest soap on earth .
they do not have any water filter connected and they exploit all staffs to the point even the Vietnamese STAFF couldn’t take the conditions treatment.
i even saw the staff filling up drinking water for the ice water urn from the main entrance hose pipe. They rely heavily on msg to the mee siam too. and the boss had shut down his restaurant in Taman tun twice.

Hi, thanks for your information! I didn’t know these “behind-the-scenes” things were happening! Hopefully Banana Cafe realises that bad hygiene is a definite no-no in the food business!
