Rosken Skin Repair - Dry Skin Lotion

I have been a fan of Rosken’s Skin Repair ever since I found how well they worked for my cracked heels. Recently, I bought some on a promotion and part of their pack included a small 75ml tube of Rosken Skin Repair Dry Skin Lotion with Vitamin E. I was pretty pleased as it was the right size for me to put in my office to use as a daily moisturizer for my hands. Office air-conditioning can be very drying since we are exposed to it for sometimes more than 8 hours a day so it is always handy to have a bottle or tube of hand moisturiser available. For people like me who have to wash dishes, I’d do anything to maintain nice and soft hands!
I found it interesting that the product advertised on their Australian website had a different name compared to the ones available here.

The Australian version promotes it as a Dry, Itchy & Scaly Cream with Vitamin E while the Malaysian version is called Dry Skin Lotion with Vitamin E. I wasn’t able to get an ingredients list from the Rosken website so I was not able to compare them to see if the ingredients were the same.

The Australian version also claims to provide up to 78% reduction in itchiness and skin dryness while the Malaysian version only advises to use it as a daily moisturiser to prevent dry skin. It appears that the Australian one is a more advanced formula and it is a pity it can’t be found here yet as I know of someone suffering from eczema who would be an ideal candidate to try the claims of the Rosken Dry, Itchy & Scaly Cream!

The information available on the Australian site says that this new cream replaces the Skin Repair with Vitamin E cream so it could be possible that we are still using their old stock of a less advanced formula until the new formula reaches our shores! Sigh, it sucks to be in a less advanced country!
The moisturiser has a faint smell that isn’t entirely unpleasant. It isn’t heavily perfumed like some moisturisers which works well for me. Upon application, I found that the cream doesn’t fully absorb into the skin and my hands don’t feel soft and nice after that.Instead, the lotion seems to “sit” on my hands as a layer which doesn’t leave my skin feeling plump and moisturised. I found it rather odd as I thought this Vitamin E enriched hand cream would provide greater moisture compared to other creams. I also find myself applying it quite often, easily up to 5 times a day just because my hands don’t feel moisturised.
I’m not sure if I would try the full sized pack after trying this sample. Perhaps I should wait for the new formula to come in from Australia (if it ever does!) and see how that one works!
