Biore Oil Cleanser

I have been using oil cleansers for my face ever since I was introduced to them. My regular cleanser is the Kanebo oil cleanser which is a little on the pricey side especially since I use it everyday with an average of 4 pumps. My cleanser recently finished and since I was in Singapore, I decided to drop by their pharmacies to see what sort of oil cleansers they carried.

Whilst browsing in Sasa, I was surprised to see that even Kao Biore had their own version of Biore oil cleanser now. The pink packaging it came in definitely caught my eye. The cleanser comes in a slim bottle which packs easier than the conventional rounded bottles. It looked quite small so I was quite surprised to see that each bottle actually holds 230 ml of cleanser. The bottle comes with a plastic cap molded to fit the pump. I thought this was really good as it actually protects dirt from entering the cleanser and acts as a lock to prevent the cleanser from coming out if accidentally pressed.

I found the texture more liquid than the Kanebo oil cleanser. It spreads on quite well and I needed fewer pumps than the recommended 4 pumps for each application. It has a distinctive smell of apples which wasn’t unpleasant but which I found too heavily perfumed. I don’t like having too much chemicals in my facial products and I wasn’t sure if the strong apple smell was due to some chemicals in it. Application wise, it went on well and it was relatively easy to use due to its liquid emollient texture. It did a decent job of cleansing my pores and luckily that strong apple smell disappeared after I washed off the oil. It claims to instantly dissolve makeup and even waterproof mascara! I didn’t try it on mascara but personally, I find cleansing oils a very good makeup remover.

Each bottle retails for SGD13.20 (approximately RM30) and can be easily found in the Sasa stores around Singapore.
