There used to be a time when a trip to Singapore meant having to wait in the grubby Puduraya Bus Station, clambering on your grubby bus and having to battle the bad jams and crowds at Woodlands Immigration Checkpoint. However, with Airebus, now you can “fly” first class all the way from KL to Singapore in luxurious comfort.

I’ve taken the Airbus to Singapore twice already now and have always been very happy with their services. This luxury coach to Singapore has two kinds of services – an executive and business class. I’ve only taken their executive class and found it to be a really comfortable bus ride. The executive bus departs from Cititel Hotel in Midvalley Megamall and Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel and arrives at the DFS Galleria, smack in the middle of Singapore’s shopping haven Orchard Road.

You have an option of twin seats or single seats on the bus which are especially useful if I’m traveling on my own and do not wish to share a seat with a stranger. Their seats are wide, plush and comfortable with lots of legroom and space to curl up to sleep. When you board, you will be assisted to by a friendly bus attendant who will provide you with bottles of mineral water and the local newspapers. A few minutes after the bus has started its journey, they will come around again to serve you a hot meal served on a tray. The first time I went down, I was given a delicious rice with fried chicken pieces, salad and a piece of banana cake. The second time I took it in the morning, I was served a deliciously warm onion omelet with sausages and some mochi. The bus plays movies along the journey on a shared TV screen which helps the journey pass a lot faster.

This luxury coach makes just one brief stop along the way in Pagoh where passengers are free to use the toilet or stretch their legs. I also like the fact that they take the second link into Singapore, using the Tuas Immigration Checkpoint which is usually less crowded and a whole lot cleaner than the Woodlands one. The first time I took the Airebus, they ran almost right on schedule and I got into Singapore in less than 5 hours. However, the second time I took the Airebus back from Singapore on Christmas morning, they were actually delayed for almost an hour.

Their drop off and pick up points in both Singapore and KL are both really easy and convenient with public transport readily available to take you to your next destination. If you are down to Singapore to shop, you can start almost immediately, right at the DFS Galleria or at Takashimaya which is just a short distance away! It’s a wonderful way to travel to Singapore and one way I would definitely recommend to everyone! Remember though, it’s Airebus not Airbus! :)
