Isn’t it great to play truant sometimes? Recently, an ex-colleague confided in how she and her colleagues took half a day off to traipse up to Gentings to indulge in a spot of betting at the machines. I was totally aghast as it was something I wouldn’t have done! Then again, I don’t go near casinos nor gamble. The only time I ever played anything in a casino was in the famed Crown Casino in Melbourne where I put in $5, won $14, scurried away and never looked back. However, I used to know some fellow students who were really into gambling, and not only in the many casinos that was available in the city. They told me that they actually preferred betting online sometimes as it was available 24 hours, 7 days a week and in the comfort of their own rooms. Some of them insisted it was for fun as they had a wide range of online facilities ranging from an online casino, interactive games and online poker. However, some seemed to be quite serious into it as they would use actual cash through their secure one wallet system. I guess playing for fun is fine but not when it involves playing with your parents’ hard-earned money or money meant for your school fees.
