Kanebo Body Massage

I frequent the Kanebo salon in Bangsar for my facials and I learnt from the girls there that a new masseur, Jenny, who joined recently was really good for treatment massages. Treatment massages are a different sort of massage from the usual soothing aromatherapy type of stroking movements. It is a massage done, instead, to correct stiff muscle problems or tight joints and can be a little painful.
I’ve been suffering from “computer sickness” (as Jenny puts it!) for a while already where my right shoulder has become very hard and stiff due to my posture and mouse position. So last weekend, I decided to give her a try. Their massage room is rather nice. It’s big with a big tub and shower stall inside where you can have the option of taking a shower before your massage. The lotions, oils and other stuff used sit on a cart next to the massage bed, which looks a little like a healthcare cart doctors use.
When you’re ready for your massage, Jenny will first wash your feet in a bowl of water with a pumice stone to help smoothen your feet. Then you hop onto the bed and let her magic fingers work their way down your back! You can actually specify which areas you want her to concentrate one. For me, I requested that she do mainly my back and she did a really thorough job of it, switching from various massage styles such as shiatsu, lomi-lomi, Swedish and others to see which I preferred.
After an hour and a half, my muscles did feel much better. The little lump on my shoulder had disappeared and my whole back felt much softer. Jenny did warn me though that my back and shoulders will ache for a while after that as she had “unblocked” all my points. True enough, it did! But that pain was worth it as my body felt much better after that. No other masseur had been able to massage away my “computer shoulder” with such effectiveness!
So, if you have “computer sickness” or “computer shoulder” just like me, go give Jenny a try in Kanebo Bangsar and let her magic fingers go to work on your bunched up and sore muscles. One treatment massage is approximately RM200. However, for a limited time, they’re running hot stone massage promotions for RM128, discounted from the usual price of RM168. I’ve yet to try it but it’s next on my list!
