Shu Uemera Moisture Face Mask

I bought a set of Shu Uemera Moisture Face Masks some time back because I was told that they were really good and just as good as SKII’s pitera masks but much cheaper. The problem with me was that I had put them into the fridge after buying them and totally forgot about them so by the time I remembered, it was at least a year old already.
So last night, after double-cleansing my face and toning, I decided to open one of the masks to use them. It was still wet with the Deepsea water it contained so that was still a good sign. I like the fact that it wasn’t too heavily fragranced or smelly like how the SKII ones are. It’s a thin sheet of paper that’s soaked in a complex combination of ceramides and Depsea water to prevent evaporation of water from the skin and contains lavender, rosemary and rosewood extracts for phytotherapy benefits.
The package advised to leave it on for only 10 minutes but I left it on for at least half an hour while I pottered about on the computer. Did my skin feel more moisturised? Well it did feel a bit like how I feel when I go for my facials.
Unfortunately, this morning when I woke up, I found some pimples on my skin! ARGH! Just as I had a meeting with someone important after work! I’m not sure if it was caused by the mask, the age of the mask or just something dirty but I think the major lesson learnt here today was to never use old masks!
Now, I’ve got 5 more masks sitting in the fridge of which I don’t dare use for fear of breaking out more. What should I do?!

But then again, it’s … err … a year old, so maybe .. er … bin it?
PE says: Thanks for dropping by, Tine!
Truly appreciate comments on my little blog! But yeah….looks like I’ll have to bin it. I suspect it’s giving me spots. Argh…lots of money down the drain!
