Have you seen the latest Pizza Hut promotion? I personally would never willingly step foot into a Pizza Hut. I like pizzas but I only like the Italian style thin-crust pizzas not the scary cheese and dough loaded American style pizzas Pizza Hut comes up with. Their latest promo involved some sausages rolled up in more cheesy pastry with some horrendous radioactive cheese dip. I thought that the sausages quite resembled pigs in a blanket which are little sausages wrapped up in pastry. Hm…that was probably where Pizza Hut got their idea from!

So how did it taste? I was honestly quite surprised to find it quite edible. The centre part was the usual cheesy concoction on the same thick pizza base that Pizza Hut is so fond of. However, the sides were little sausage pieces wrapped up in pastry with cooked cheese on top of it, a little like cheese bread. I found the little sausages quite tasty and it went surprisingly well with the cheesy pastry. The pizza was on the salty side though which was probably due to the overdose of cheese on it.

The advertisement showed that you’re supposed to eat it together with that radioactive cheese dip but that was just too much cheese for me and I opted to eat it plain. A colleague who ate it said it was rather nice albeit a little rich.

I still can’t understand why Pizza Hut is always full with a queue outside it during lunch time! Malaysians must really love rich, cheesy pizzas!
