Are you an adventure junkie? Do you love the great outdoors? If you do, you’ll love the activities Nomad Adventure has in store for you!

They’re an adventure company which operates from their office in Summit USJ. I went with them last weekend on an adventure-filled day of caving, flying fox and white water rafting up in Gopeng, Perak. They not only do day trips or camping 2 and 3 days trips out to their outdoor centre in Gopeng but also do rock-climbing in the Summit Rock Climbing Gym for all you adrenaline junkies.

We had good guides who took us through the activities and briefed each activity in detail before doing it so we all had a good idea of what we were going to do. Safety was also their main concern and they made each activity feel very safe. I was really terrified during the caving when we had to use ropes to abseil down some walls but the guide was really good in talking me through all the way while shining his light to help me see the footholds below. All their guides have a good knowledge of Gua Kandu which we explored and pointed out lots of interesting little snippets of information and little curiosities us city folk would have walked right past!

They took good care of our tummies too and provided a great Malay kampung style lunch under the trees with a nice spread of ayam masak merah, veges, omelettes and fruits. They even packed oranges and biscuits in water-proofed bags for us to carry with us on our white water rafting trip so we could have a short tea break. We thought that was all there was but they even had a hot tea of hot Milo, goreng pisang and cucur ikan bilis waiting for us after our white water rafting trip!

I truly enjoyed myself despite the aching legs and I’ll definitely go with them again for their activities! Two thumbs up for Nomad! :)

Edit: Thanks to PB who kindly reminded me, Nomad could definitely improve their transportation system! We were carted from our bus drop-off point to the cave site and back again in the open back of a dusty LORRY! Exposed to low-hanging branches and clinging on for dear life! We’d never felt more like animals in a lorry! :P So half a thumb down until they get something decent like vans!
