Kanebo: Silk Set

I used to battle dry skin for quite a while. I had sensitive skin and there were lots of products that I tried that ended up making it worse. I’m not sure how my skin turned from oily as a teenager to dry. Perhaps it was all the AHA-enriched creams I was using when I was younger to keep my pimples and oily skin in check.

Because I have sensitive skin too, it isn’t easy for me to find products that suit my skin. I used Estee Lauder for a while but later realised that their products don’t really suit Asian skin and tended to be a too rich without fully absorbing into the skin. So when sis told me about facials at Kanebo, I decided to give it a try. I tried their Silk facial and was truly impressed with the results. It left my skin feeling plump, moisturized, silky smooth and dewy looking which lasted for days. They told me that the secret ingredient was their Silk Smoother Cream which was designed to provide and lock in moisture.

The cream comes in a little bottle and doesn’t feel rich like how some products are. It glides on smoothly and absorbs well and is almost free of fragrance which is good as I don’t like overly fragranced creams. It comes as a set with the Silk Powder that goes on after the cream has been applied. Although it looks like a make-up powder, it isn’t and is also designed to hold and lock in the moisture in your skin for a much longer period. Because it isn’t a make-up powder, you can put it on and go to sleep with it and wake up with moisturized skin.

The set doesn’t come cheap at a retail price of RM700 for both but for me it’s worth it as my skin feels and looks much better now. It definitely saved my skin from drying out with all the recent traveling I’ve been doing. I was so pleased to find my skin still soft and moisturised despite being exposed for long periods to dry cabin and foreign air. Hopefully, that’ll keep the wrinkles away!
