Nirvana Hotel, Phuket

P4270037

I came across Nirvana Hotel when researching accommodation for my previous trip to Phuket early this year. It was their website that sold me. It was a nice professional website with really nice pictures plus they were offering a room for a great rate of THB600 (RM60) a night which seemed a terrific deal! They were a spanking new hotel, having been built just about a year ago. My initial concern before arriving there was that it was a scam and seemed almost too good to be true.

When we arrived however, I understood why it was so cheap. It was pretty far from the general attractions of Patong town. Going to Bangla Road or Jungceylon Mall everyday was a good 25 mins walk which was made even worse when we were carrying our shopping or some groceries.

Hotel wise, it was rather clean and new. It’s a 3 storey hotel or guesthouse, which is very common in Phuket. It doesn’t come with any lifts or pool and the spa promised on the site actually belonged to different massage establishment. The promised Italian restaurant too was not in operation and we understood from the people in charge that the hotel had recently changed hands. Their rooms were quite nice with a good firm mattress, cable TV and good air-conditioning. I found it quite odd though that they didn’t provide any shampoo or soap which was the very basic I expected from any guesthouse!

Due to the distance, we checked-out after 2 nights there to move to a closer location. Before we left, however, we were told that their rooms were pretty booked up for the next few weeks which was good, considering that it was the low season.

If you’re looking for a cheap, quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach and Bangla Road, Nirvana could be your personal nirvana! :)
