iGoogle

A friend actually recommended this to me sometime back but lazy me wasn’t much in the mood to mess around with it then. Recently, however, I started reading more about it from various blogs and decided to give it a go and it’s great!

iGoogle is a nifty little feature that allows you to customise your Google search page with your very own theme and features. I like the fact that it came with easy to use widgets to add or remove features you want displayed on your search page. This is perfect for tech-idiots like me who don’t really know much code!

iGoogle has cute little themes ranging from bus stops to beaches if you’re in dire need of a holiday! I uploaded an adorable Chinese-based theme with a little fox in a Non Hat accompanied by his pet tortoise! I’ve customised my date, clock and even the weather in KL to display. You can actually add various countries to your weather clock so if you’re a frequent flyer, you’ll always know the weather back home and your next destination!

What I loved most is that the theme is actually interactive so as the day turns to night, so will the sun in your theme and the characters in it! When I first loaded this theme around noon, my little fox was happily rowing himself on the lake in a boat but now as it slowly turns to evening, he’s reminding me that it’s time for dinner!
